Welcome to the Member Service Department area. I thought by running though a few programs and special offers, would help you see that being members of East-Central Iowa REC has it’s advantages. Take a little time to explore the different areas and hopefully we can be of some help.

• In the water heating area, we carry 50 and 80-gallon high efficient electric models that are priced for you as a member. Along with the special pricing, we also offer installation at a very reasonable price and we offer to take care of any problem with the water heater should one exist as part of our warranty program created for our members.
• We have a special electric home heating rate called “Heat Plus” (formally named dual fuel) that could save you over 50% on you home heating if you have or install whole house electric heat. We also have rebates available for electric heat installations such as air source heat pumps and geothermal heat pumps. Hundreds of members have taken advantage of the “Heat Plus” heating rate over the years and still continue to save big bucks as other home heating fuel sources skyrocket.
• Keeping cool is another area we might be able to help. We offer a rebate on high efficient central A/C installs and for proper installations we will apply the rebate to your energy account.
• If you need help with lightning protection, we carry a full line of units that can be installed to protect individual electronic items or whole house large appliances.
  • We carry different models of electric grills if outdoor cooking is your thing. Have you ever tried to find an electric grill? It is tough and that is why we offer them to you as members.
• In my department we have technicians available for all your residential and small commercial wiring needs. We also trench and do some plumbing as well as offering a free on site estimate to cover exactly your specific needs so you are comfortable with any wiring decisions made. You will find that our rates are very competitive and our technicians are some of the best around. We are insured and also licensed for wiring in Independence and Vinton. We are not just rural anymore.

Well, I have given you a little taste of some of the programs, services and products that your REC has available for you as a member and many of these are for you as a member only. If you have any questions about these programs or products, please call your REC office and you will be directed to people that can help you. I think that you can see that being an REC member does have its advantages and you are more than just another number to us.
