The 20th Annual Meeting of the Members of East-Central Iowa REC was held on June 18. This year’s meeting was well attended by an estimated 141 members plus guests.
Don Shonka (District 21) ran unopposed and will serve a three-year term, Jim Barz (District 24) was elected to run a three-year term, and Ryan Kress (District 27) was re-elected to serve another three-year terms.
Following the meeting, Bill’s Pizza and Smokehouse out of Independence provided hamburgers, side dishes and beverages. Joseph Weber of Brandon also served ice cream.
Finally, a Board reorganization meeting followed. Re-elected to offices were Steve Rau, president; Burt Byers, vice president; Jim Alberts, secretary/treasurer; and Ryan Kress, assistant secretary/treasurer.
Members attending the Annual Meeting received an East-Central Iowa REC Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Quaker Oats/PepsiCo food bags.
Door prizes included several gift cards.
