East-Central Iowa REC added three new apprentice line workers to its Operations Department this summer. Braxton Clubb, Shawn Kelly, and Bryce Burroughs, who are working from Vinton, all obtained their Powerline Tech degrees from Northwest Iowa Community College. They are busy assisting and training with ECI REC line crews, tackling everything involved in building and repairing overhead and underground distribution powerlines.
Braxton Clubb is excited to begin his lifelong career at ECI REC. Braxton graduated high school from Pekin Community Schools in Packwood, Iowa. Coming from a smaller community, Braxton likes the hometown feeling offered by both Vinton and the Cooperative environment. When not at work, Braxton enjoys hunting, fishing, farming, and being outdoors.
Shawn Kelly’s hometown is Iowa City. Shawn is eager to work for a Cooperative and looks forward to meeting and serving ECI REC members. In his spare time, Shawn enjoys golf, fishing, and fantasy football.
Bryce Burroughs’ name may sound familiar—he previously worked as summer help for ECI REC. A Vinton native and a graduate of Vinton-Shellsburg High School, Bryce enjoys hunting, fishing, and just being outside.
Braxton and Shawn started in June; Bryce came on board in July. Join ECI REC in welcoming these new faces and celebrating their dedication to keeping the lights on!
