RECare Program

Help Your Neighbors Through RECare

East-Central Iowa REC’s RECare program gives members a simple way to support other members in need. Contributions to RECare provide funds to local community action agencies, which help low-income households with winter heating bills and home weatherization.

You can make a monthly pledge or a one-time donation, and the amount will be conveniently added to your electric bill.

Even a dollar a month can make a difference for a neighbor in need!

Helping Hands

If you or someone you know occasionally misses a utility payment due to illness, memory challenges, or other circumstances, consider enrolling in East-Central Iowa REC’s Helping Hand Reminder Program.

How the Helping Hand Reminder Program works

When an enrolled account becomes past due, ECI REC will notify a designated contact person. This individual is not responsible for paying the bill; their role is simply to provide a friendly reminder that payment is due.

The Helping Hand Reminder Program is offered at no cost to ECI REC members-consumers. Participants may withdraw from the program at any time by contacting ECI REC at 877-850-4343.

To enroll, complete the form by selecting the link below and choose "Helping Hand Program" in the subject field within the form.
